WOMEN AND AGRICULTURE

The work and the role of women, in agriculture, is important for long time. For example, in Italy, untill fifties, rice farming, largely, depended on women work. They spent whole day, cleaning rice fields ( this operation was called 'monda'), this is way they were called 'Mondine'.
Nowadays, in many countries, sowing, harvest and seeds conservation methods are, still, women task.
Unfortunately, in many areas of the world, they don't have nither loans chances for agricultural activities, nor the possibility to learn new farming techniques, to produce more and better quality rice.
Even in the places, where national law protects rights equality between men and women, local usages, often, forbid women to have and manage a plot of land. If we want rice production ( but also the agricultural one in general ) increase in the right way, we must soon solve this problem!
